About the Industries of the Future Community

The Industries of the Future Community, coordinated by Eurecat and made up of 29 leading entities in the field of Catalan manufacturing, is working to consolidate a leading pole of innovation in efficient and sustainable manufacturing in Catalonia, through the creation of a network of capabilities and pilot plants that allow the cohesion of integral value chains around industrial R&D&I.

The Industries of the Future Community carries out 5 strategic projects of applied research and industrial development during the period 2018-2021. They are all focused on the areas of industrial digitization, collaborative robotics, advanced processes and functional products.

This initiative, which has received ERDF funding, is part of the Research and Innovation Strategy for Smart Specialization in Catalonia (RIS3CAT) which is Catalonia’s response to the European Commission’s demand that and European Union regions develop research and innovation strategies for smart specialization that match their innovation potential.
